Universal Code of Conduct

  • Profanity, abusive behaviour or any act of violence will not be tolerated at The Can-Am Indian Friendship Centre of Windsor.
  • We understand people become angry when they feel matters are not dealt with as they wish. It is unacceptable should that anger escalate into aggression towards a member of our staff, another client or community member or the Centre. We have zero tolerance to foul language and abusive, aggressive or violent behavior. We also have zero tolerance to illegal activity, drugs and/or alcohol at our Centre. Our Code of Conduct applies to all Can-Am Events, including off-site events. Aggressive or abusive behavior includes: • Language (whether verbal or written) that may cause staff to feel afraid, threatened or abused and may include threats, • Personal verbal abuse, • Derogatory remarks and rudeness, • Inflammatory statements, • Remarks of a racial or discriminatory nature, • Unsubstantiated allegations, • Vandalizing or mistreatment of the Centre property.
  • Any person who is aggressive or abusive towards our staff, clients, community members, Centre and/or any person suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave, may be denied access to services and will be reported to the police.
